1983-1985

I began taking photos in my freshman year at NYU as part of my film studies using my Dad's ancient Konica.  Being by nature more of a solo worker than a collaborator, I drifted out of film-making, but continued taking pictures.

These photos represent my first steps in the world of photography.  Looking back on them on now, I find it interesting to see that some of the themes that attracted me then continue to reappear in the photos that I take today.
